I was surprised by how much how much I liked this. The readings.generally made sense and when they didn't there was generally a good reason (plant too dry, probes touching pot). The lux reader was pretty decent and made sense wether the plant was under a grow light or in the near dark. My really old plants had terrible EC/Fertility readings but my newly planted cilantro pot had excellent EC reading and newer plants had better readings.
I did find that the screen dimmed a little sooner than I liked.
The one reading I didn't care for was the PH. It's gauge is on 0.5 increments and with the starting point at 0.5 it's hard to tell if it's broken. I mean the reading makes sense but I actively disliked the way it worked. I really wished that it flashed zero during the testing phase.
For the price, I don't expect perfection but I was impressed by how the reasons were quite useful and when they weren't, it was pretty obvious.
