  All rightie, since the scabbard for my Nisaku hori-hori disintegrated, I wanted a replacement. One case I got was huge, made for a bush warrior's stabber, I feel. Too big, too cumbersome. I am just a gardener.
  I got this - a Japanese copy (?) made in China; the company is in Osaka - for the scabbard. Good and sturdy, and the knife came with it.
  The knife is not as well-finished as the Nisaku (thinner, sharper, mirror-polished). Soild. Soil seems to get stuck more. All in all, a good knife
