Although I don't make coax cables often, I do sometimes need to test existing coax cabling in my home. My home was built many years before the Internet became commonplace, so it primarily used coax cables for TV service. Sometimes it is too complex to run new Ethernet cabling, so reusing the existing coax cables is very useful. I can use MoCA adapters on each end of an existing coax cable to run Ethernet signals, but it is good to make sure the cable is in good condition, and being able to test the cable adds to a sense of confidence that the cable is working properly. These adapter ends are a very simple and inexpensive way to use popular Ethernet cable testing equipment to verify the proper functioning of my coax cables.
