  I bought this lamp because of the Smart Memory Function. I was hoping to connect the light to a smart switch so that I could turn it on and off remotely. However, the Smart Memory Function only stores the state of the settings, not the on/off state. Many LED lights resume their last state when unplugged—for example, if the light is on and unplugged, it will turn back on automatically when plugged back in. I needed such a Smart Memory Function, but unfortunately, this light does not work that way.
  
  Otherwise, the light is plenty bright, has a sturdy clamp, and appears to be well-built. However, the USB connector is very long, so it may not fit in tight spaces.
