Paper straws are really green-washing, they introduce extremely bad chemicals into your body and they cannot be *ironically* recycled at all, whereas plastic straws like this CAN be recycled. And no, I'm not lugging around a steel straw, as it cannot be washed easily, so it's not hygenic at all. Like if I go out and buy a drink in the middle of a hot day, by the time I come home, it's going to be caked on hard, requiring a lot of effort to wash it with no guarantee that you'll get everything (look at how much toothpaste it left on your toothbrush after a week's use). So you'll waste a lot of time, water, and soap to try to clean that and you'll probably have to buy another one in just a few weeks/months, so it's not that environmentally friendly i.e. steel straws are also part of green-washing.One person found this helpfulReport PermalinkHelpful
