  I use this with the ninja outdoor bbq. However you need to fill the container completely for it to catch fire and give out smoke that in turn gives the food a smoky taste. Food doesn't treally need that much time to become smoky. Once the food is cooked, it takes a long time for the woodfire to become ashes which I think is a waste.
