  This adapter is a great option to use current 20 volt batteries with older 18 volt tools and the 18 volt tools work great But, why only 4 stars, is because the tool does not shut down to protect the battery because it's not designed to run on 20 volt batteries. If this adapter had circuitry to cause the tool to shut down it wouldn't cause the 20 volt battery to run down so low that it can't recover and recharge. Be mindful when using this adapter with your 20 volt batteries, you could kill a good battery.
