You guys I followed all the instructions and let this air fryer run for awhile a few times before using it and let me tell you, my whole house smelled like a toxic plastic chemical cancer causing smell. It鈥檚 so strong it literally stung my nose and made me feel sick and like I was going to get a headache. I can鈥檛 keep this. It鈥檚 not worth my health. I鈥檓 returning it. Also the picture shows a wire basket, and you don鈥檛 get that. The representatives aren鈥檛 helpful at all so I called ninja and they told me this model doesn鈥檛 come with that rack. I told them about the picture and waited for them to offer to send me one but they didn鈥檛 so finally I asked them if they could send me one since the picture shows it instead of me returning it but they said no. Not great experience with them. But this was before I turned it on. Good thing they didn鈥檛 bother because I鈥檓 not keeping it. I feel so sick with that smell. And I kept it going because I thought maybe it would go away but it didn鈥檛. I don鈥檛 even want to keep it in the house it just reeks. I placed it by the back door because the whole unit is emitting that smell now eventhough it鈥檚 hasn鈥檛 been running. I wish I could put it outside I don鈥檛 even want it in here. Its winter so it鈥檚 not like I can even open the windows. I had to open the doors until I was freezing to try to get some fresh air in here and even that wasn鈥檛 enough to get rid of the smell. I took my dogs and we went upstairs in the bedroom and shut the door. You guys I鈥檓 serious. I don鈥檛 know if it鈥檚 just my machine but this can鈥檛 be good for anyone. It also doesn鈥檛 say anywhere on the box if the fryer is BPA or PFOA free. I read online it was ceramic which is another reason why I chose it along with all the amazing reviews, but I don鈥檛 see that anywhere on the box or instructions manual. So based on how horrifically toxic my house now smells and how it鈥檚 making my body feel, I鈥檓 going to assume it鈥檚 not and this machine is extremely bad for you. I also got it on sale half price just after Christmas. It鈥檚 regular $199 and I got it for $99. I can鈥檛 imagine paying anymore than that. The door also doesn鈥檛 feel secure when you push it in. Honestly a child could very easily tug on it and the whole tray of scalding food could cause traumatic burns. That was another thing that felt off was the door doesn鈥檛 lock and or even click when you push it in. It takes no effort at all to pull it out. There should be a button to press to open and close the door for safety. If you buy this you鈥檒l see what I鈥檓 talking about. If you have small children and have this machine please be wary.
