The book is not a technical treatise about the national and parliamentary processes, but of a life lived out in both the First Nations and the Canadian political worlds. His humanity is seen on every page and we can relate to it. It gives us a better appreciation of the worldview of the First Nations' people in flesh and blood. We experience his joys and sorrows along the way. I read it just before his passing and was pleased to have known him through this and not just a political face to the TRC. Miigwech!
