Customer Review

The Omnikey 3021 Desktop Smart Card Reader offers decent functionality for reading smart cards, but there's one significant drawback—it's non-TAA compliant.

On the positive side, the smart card reader works well for its intended purpose. It accurately reads various types of smart cards and provides a reliable connection to my computer. The installation was straightforward, and the device was recognized by my operating system without any issues.

The compact and desktop-friendly design is also a plus, as it doesn't take up much space on my desk and is easy to carry around when needed.

However, my disappointment stems from the fact that this smart card reader is not TAA compliant. TAA compliance is essential for certain government and institutional contracts, and unfortunately, this device falls short in meeting that requirement.

While it might not be a concern for everyone, it limits the usability of the Omnikey 3021 in certain professional settings where TAA compliance is necessary.

Overall, the smart card reader serves its purpose well, but the lack of TAA compliance is a significant drawback. If TAA compliance is not a concern for your needs, it's a decent option. Otherwise, you might need to explore alternatives to meet specific contract requirements.
