  I bought this because we're going through a heat wave in Edmonton and a hot cup of coffee in the morning just won't do. Also I love cold coffee any time of day in the warm months. I read a bunch of recipes for cold brew because the maker doesn't come with one. My recipe called for 1 cup of beans to 4 cups of water. I don't have a coffee grinder, I have a coffee maker that grinds beans so I had no choice but to use it to grind my beans but they ground up fine. All the recipes called for coarse grind so I assumed I'd be screwed. I put the grounds in the filter and put the water in and popped it in the fridge. The mixture looked gritty and muddy so I assumed it wouldn't work. Low and behold, waking up this morning to a beautiful batch of cold brew that tastes lovely. I will still purchase pre ground coarse coffee but in a pinch this worked. Very impressed.
