I colored and dyed my hair for years which caused lots of damage and hair loss. Last year I chopped all of my damaged hair off and I鈥檝e been on a journey to grow it out long, strong and healthy.
Now as stated on the bottle it won鈥檛 make a person grow more hair (I鈥檝e been using Rosemary oil shampoo and a scalp massager for that which works very well) but it is designed to make hair stronger/better conditioned so that it won鈥檛 break. Right now the length of my hair is about halfway down my neck and I was noticing that a lot of the hairs were sticking out and feeling dry/full of static despite using conditioner in the shower. I live in Canada where the winter air is very drying and doesn鈥檛 help this problem either.
I read up on leave in conditioners and this product had excellent reviews as well as a great price point (I paid $10 Canadian at the time of writing this review).
These are my observations so far:
- The spray nozzle can be a bit finicky/difficult to use as it鈥檚 kind of small. I find that spraying it in your hands then working it through the hair can make it easier to apply. It can feel a bit greasy on the hands but it washes off with no problem
- I like to comb it through my hair using my hands and a hair brush to ensure even coverage from root to the ends. The brush glides through my hair and it never gets snagged on any knots
- It smells wonderful! It smells stronger when first putting it on damp hair, but once your hair is dried I find that it isn鈥檛 as strong. I like this because I am sensitive to scents and get headaches if I smell a strong hair product all day
- My hair is now very soft, silky and shiny. Theres no frizz anymore and my hair doesn鈥檛 feel heavy which I was worried about. It actually feels lighter and I can pass my fingers through my hair without them catching in any knots
- I find it takes a little longer to dry my hair with the hair dryer, but it鈥檚 worth it because my hair doesn鈥檛 feel like straw anymore. I used my Revlon brush dryer which REALLY dries my hair out due to the high heat, and after using it to dry/style my hair it still felt soft, smooth and there were no split ends or frizz
- If I let my hair air dry after using it I find it can look 鈥済reasy鈥 but if you brush the hair out once it鈥檚 100% dry it will look nice and shiny
- I haven鈥檛 noticed any irritation to my scalp
- You can really feel the conditioner in your hair when you shower the next day/the hair gets wet but I鈥檓 always able to wash it out with no issue after a good shampoo
- I don鈥檛 notice any product being left on my pillow after sleeping with it in my hair. My hair also doesn鈥檛 have as many dents in it the next morning which is awesome because shorter hair tends to do this
- It hasn鈥檛 caused any acne breakouts. I鈥檓 acne prone and was worried it would break me out if my hair that鈥檚 covered in this product came into contact with my skin, but so far there鈥檚 been no issue
- I don鈥檛 notice any hair falling out in the shower or while brushing my hair out
Overall I am very impressed with this product and the only thing I鈥檓 not a fan of is the spray nozzle. But as I mentioned before, if you spray it into your hands you can apply it more easily. I can鈥檛 wait to see how my hair looks as it continues to grow out!
