- Reviewed in Canada on June 9, 2014This is, quite simply, the best little lead pointer for anyone owning a 2mm clutch pencil EVER. It retains the shavings exceptionally well, and no more than a turn (or at most two) is required to get a very sharp point, useful if you want to take your clutch pencil on the go and don't want the hassle of graphite bits spilling everywhere (I've had the Staedtler tub shaver leak them into my jacket pocket). Better still, it suits clutch pencils with oddly shaped noses (e.g. Staedtler's 925 35-20) which don't fit in a tub sharpener's "snout". Best of all, it is VERY small and highly portable (though this may be a downside, as it can predispose to losing the blessed thing if you're careless).
If all you have is the Staedtler Mars Technico and it never leaves your desk, a tub sharpener is probably the thing for you. But if you want mobility, this is the way to go.
