  I deal with a wide range of voltages up to 480v, and this unit is rated for such voltage levels. I prefer manual ranging as with automatic ranging for dealing with high voltage.
  
  The optional magnetic strap works very well and is highly recommended (although a bit pricey for a magnet embedded in plastic).
