I really wanted to like this scanner as it seemed to have everything I was looking for.
Unfortunately the claims the manufacturer makes are almost all false.
First, the scanner has not once properly identified a Toyota or a Nissan. You have to know, what plant it was made in, and what code it is. For example Nissan Titans have two.
It can not reset a simple SAS sensor which it claims to do. I am sure it will also not do many other things that they have claimed. This scanner can鈥檛 even do the simplest tasks like turning off and on the courtesy seat movement when the key is put into the ignition.
This scanner is so bad that it can鈥檛 even pick up two dead coil packs that my $50 scanner could. (I took it to a garage to confirm and they also agreed this scanner is junk!)
I purchased mine directly from TOPDON here on 麻豆区 but I see they no longer sell it which makes me also wonder how long the free for life updates will be offered if they have discontinued the scanner because it was junk. (I would also like to mention the first one they sent me was defective right out of the box so I had to send it back and wait for a replacement) The second unit doesn鈥檛 seem to be much better.
Every time I have contacted the company for support I have to contact them multiple times, wait a week to a month and then when I contact them the second time they respond every time with they don鈥檛 know how to fix their issue. And then usually suggest I try a different scanner that will work. Not exactly support!
One time they actually suggested that I pay the garage to video record that the TOPDON doesn鈥檛 work while the shops did. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard! Pay $700 for a scanner then take it to a dealer and pay them another $150 so the manufacturer of the TOPDON scanner can see their unit doesn鈥檛 work properly.
Don鈥檛 get me wrong, their staff has always been very polite and friendly but basically of no help.
In short鈥 this is a nice looking scanner with great potential that has been outdone by a cheap $50 scanner.
I would never recommend this or any TOPDON product based on my many experiences with it and the company.
I would also like to mention and point out that the original TOPDON ad that I purchased this thru is now gone with all the bad reviews so you can鈥檛 see them.
Terrible scanner plagued with problems and false claims of what it can do.
