- Reviewed in Canada on December 1, 2024This is a nice set of needle felt wool and a transparent case to store it in, but I would not call it a kit because it does not come with needle felting needles or a mat to felt it on. It does give you a 96 beautifully colored shades of soft wool (3g each) to needle felt with, and a lovely transparent carry case to organize the wool in and see what you have available to use.
I love all the shades of wool that are included in this set; there are so many beautiful shades and colors, 96 different shades to work with. I also love how you can easily organize the wool to see what you have to work with in this see-through case. The wool is soft and smooth, and brightly coloured, and feels like the quality of wool I already buy to needle felt with. It is easy to work with in needle felting.
The transparent case has four different levels and each of them easily snap on and off using the handles and a little clip. The handles are thin and I'm not sure how long they will last but they feel good to me. Each level is divided into six compartments so that you can easily organize the 3g bags of wool. You can remove those compartments if you want, or put them back in if you change your mind. I like the compartments because it makes it really easy to organize the wool in these 3g sized bags. It also helps that the lid has a handle which makes it really easy to tote around, and the case takes up a small amount of space but holds a lot of wool.
It set comes with a brief leaflet showing you step-by-step how to make a needle felted rabbit that is for a beginner. But if you are buying the set for a beginner you would also need to buy them needle felting needles and a mat in order to needle felt so I don't think this should be called a kit. It is a great supply of needle felt wool and a container to organize it in.
If you are looking for a good set of needle felting wool in 3g amounts this is a good set. If you are looking for a beginner kit you might want to get one with needles and a pad included, or buy them in addition to this set.
