Having read most of the David McCullough historical books of famous US people and events I put Stephen R. Bown right up there. Reminded me of reading David’s book “The Path Between the Seas”. The Company was a page turner at times and you almost find yourself back in time with many of the famous travellers and discoveries that are brought to life. You will discover many things that you are not aware of in early Canadian history, especially the references to the many Indigenous tribes and the harsh winters they lived through. Especially how many people died of smallpox that worked its way north from Mexico. Guarantee you will enjoy reading this book.
