  I bought this to do some cell phone repairs as I wasn't ready to purchase a hot plate yet.
  
  The heat gun does work and gets very hot, very quickly. But overall I found it difficult to use for repairs. This was more of a me issue than the device.
  
  That being said, I agree with others when they say the cord is way too short.
