The bronze base is elegant and they have some weight to them and do not feel cheap at all. The light shade encases the whole light, so the entire shade glows when the light is turned on. You have the option to have a softer yellow light or a brighter white light. The switch is a touch switch and they are easy to operate. I appreciate the convenience of being able to put the lights anywhere without having to worry about plugs. I haven't decided where to put them yet; indoors or on my patio. Highly recommend!
