We bought it for a road trip to hold leftovers, milk and sandwiches cold so we wouldn't have to eat in restaurants so much and it more than paid for itself. We had to buy the adapter for it so we could plug it into an outlet in the hotel rooms when they didn't have a fridge but whenever the hotels did have fridges, we'd transfer the food to the hotel fridge to give it a break from running continuously and then we'd brought along a couple of those mini freezer paks so even if the cooler wasn't cold in the morning when we moved everything back in, it was enough to keep things cold till the cooler was brought back to temp. after we plugged it back in. We would store the milk near the fan and often found our milk iced up a bit and our chicken was always very cold so we knew it was doing its job. We kept our fruit and salad at the other end and they stayed cold but never froze up. You have to remember this cooler does not guarantee it will keep your stuff at a certain temperature, it only goes 40 degrees F lower than the temperature its in, so for us our cooler was almost always at room temp or in the vehicle at about room temp so it was perfect for being a fridge temperature. Therefore if you were using it in the hot summer temps, it would obviously only cool it off accordingly, 40 degrees F cooler than the surrounding temperature. Latch closes well so we never once found it accidently left open but we never put it in the vertical position. Nice long cord for plugging in. Good handles for carrying. Was perfect for our situation.
