I didn't want to write this review but I contacted the company personally (I emailed them, phoned them and I talked to a customer service rep) last year and spoke to them about the following (it has been a year since my communication with them and there has been no follow up since my conversation with their quality control department and no follow up to *their* response to my review/comments on their official website):
C= sometimes sounds like C# depending on which part of the mallet you hit the key with. D= sounds like C#. E= sounds like D. I'm not giving this to my nephew because it is out of tune. I also tried hitting the notes with different parts of the mallet but the "D" and "E" are still awful.
**The incorrect tunings of the first three notes are based on the product I purchased last spring 2020.**
