I want to see brush strokes and texture so these bristles have that but are also soft enough too. It makes for some nice mark making too. It's a nice mix for my own style. If you want a smoother paint look, you might want something less coarse. They clean up pretty nicely too - even with acrylics - and I am very hard on my brushes so that will add longevity to them too. Very happy.
