Make sure you lay out and mark how you want everything to fit before you take the foam pieces out, as you cannot reuse or reinsert them after removal. Also, the pieces closest to the corners tend to stick to the bottom and will result in tears on the lower layer when removed, so it is best to set up your tools etc. in such a way that you leave those pieces intact.
The removable blocks are too big and do not allow for a solid fit with tools that have many curves and angles, such as drills, which in a way defeats the purpose of the insert.
