  TIG welder here. Bought these, alongside the knipex mini bolt cutters, to cut filler rod. These are fantastic, and only have a little problem cutting 1/8 stainless filler.
  DON'T use them to cut tungsten, I did that and it bent the cutting surface ever so slightly.
  
  If you're between these or the mini bolt cutters for filler wire cutting, the mini bolt cutters cut easier and have no issue with 1/8, however the pliers are obviously more versatile.
