  I looked at a lot of coil spring compressors before buying this one. I was apprehensive about them as changing soil springs can be very dangerous given the amount of elastic energy stored in a compressed coil spring. This compressor worked exceptionally well. It is well made and robust and clamps onto the spring well with an additional support between the two arms. I changed all four coils on my Subaru Outback for upgraded heavier duty coils and the process was flawless and very easy. I highly recommend this product. I used a ratchet wrench and socket to operate the compressor and it worked well with minimal effort.
