  I was excited to finally be able to use my Smallrig V99 battery on my video tripod with this quick mount from the same trusted brand. Well now, since vertically mounting the assembly two critical manufacturing flaws have revealed themselves inside of a few weeks. The first is that the aluminum tension knob has stripped off internally when attempting to tighten the clamp onto my tripod center column (only 7/8" so easily fit inside clamp opening). Now I need to use a pair of pliers to tighten and loosen the clamp which looks pretty low budget when you are shooting on location with what should appear to be a pro set up. Secondly, the mounting plate sub-assembly has become loose with the V99 mounted for only 10 days with minimal tripod movement. I had to take the assembly apart to re-tighten the single machine screw responsible for securing a $300 battery! You can design better Smallrig. Please do so. I am very happy with all the other Smallrig products that I own and use regularly. A customer shouldn't have to take apart your product and apply Loc-Tite to the threads of a vital support screw so said product stays together firmly. Just sayin...
