Customer Review

I purchased this version thinking it was the same version as one of the original Deluxe versions (1989 version). I admit I hadn't fully researched all the different Scrabble versions before purchasing. I was disappointed to note that the two-piece design was rather cheap. There are two "locking" features that hold the board together when set up but it's not secure and so any small bit of force can easily knock the board apart, for example, when one is using the turntable feature. Even in the locked position, there is a large gap. The letter tiles seem to be a cheaper make (you can actually see the imperfect squares) and I noted the same as another reviewer that the black letters seem to rub off. (I wouldn't want to risk getting these pieces wet). The tiles are much smaller than the square holders on the board. These are small issues, really. I suppose the game is functional but for the cost and in comparison to earlier versions, it's just very disappointing. I was looking for a tile lock feature and something for travelling (wanting something a bit bigger than the Folio edition, which is very good btw) In the end I traded this for the 鶹 Exclusive Deluxe Edition for the same cost and I am much more impressed with that version.
