  The SmallRig baseplate is a beautifully engineered piece of metal which adds an extra 1/2" to the bottom of the camera and has a shiny black finish ( and a discreet logo on the front.) I was able to attach my Peak Design Capture clip to the baseplate with no problem. It adds a nice balance to the camera body, especially when using a larger lens and it does feel more comfortable to hold it It will also be easy to remove it if a more compact set up is desired .
