  I had a graphic-design grade mechanic pencil before. This one is terrific because its eraser hat has a built-in anti-slip cushion ring that lets you easily take it off. I love that the barrel has a sleek, semi-black finish subtly dusted with ultra-fine silver speckles, giving it a refined, almost cosmic shimmer under the light.
  
  The weight is spot-on -- slightly bottom-heavy, which gives you just enough tactile feedback to apply the right amount of pressure with control and precision.
  
  One thing my old pencil excels at is its cushioned grip area, while this new one has a rigid grip with a sharply raised texture reminiscent of pineapple skin.
  
  The new one has better form factor -- thicker body, good for my hand size.
  
  Both are made in Japan, great quality. It offers excellent value for the price.
