I recently had the opportunity to use the BIN 2 Primer Stain Blocker & Odour Sealer in Tintable White, 946 mL, and I must say, my experience was less than satisfactory. Here鈥檚 a detailed look at the product and why it did not meet my expectations.

    Strong, Unpleasant Odor
One of the first things I noticed upon opening the can was the strong, unpleasant odor. While some level of odor is expected with primers and sealers, this product鈥檚 smell was overpowering and lingered long after application. If you are sensitive to strong smells or plan to use this in an enclosed space, be prepared for significant ventilation needs.

    Thick Consistency
The consistency of the primer was another major drawback. It was much thicker than anticipated, making it difficult to apply evenly. The thickness led to a clumpy application, which not only affected the finish but also increased the overall effort required to work with the product.

    Multiple Layers Needed
Despite its thick consistency, I found that a single layer was insufficient to achieve the desired coverage and sealing effect. Multiple layers were necessary to properly block stains and seal odors, which was both time-consuming and inefficient. This was particularly disappointing as I had hoped for a one-coat solution, which this product did not deliver.

    Application Issues
The application process was labor-intensive. The thick consistency made it challenging to spread the primer smoothly, leading to uneven coverage. This also meant that more product was needed to cover the same area compared to other primers I鈥檝e used in the past, increasing the cost and effort involved.

    Final Thoughts
Overall, the BIN 2 Primer Stain Blocker & Odour Sealer in Tintable White did not meet my expectations. The strong odor, thick consistency, and need for multiple layers made the application process cumbersome and the results less than satisfactory.

While this product may have some strengths, such as potentially strong stain-blocking and odor-sealing capabilities, these were overshadowed by the significant drawbacks I experienced. I would recommend looking for alternative primers that offer easier application, less odor, and better coverage with fewer coats.
