  I recently upgraded to the mirrorless world. I already have the F-mount version of this lens and was always very pleased with it. I initially decided that I would keep using my F-mount lenses with my new Z8 body. However, after reading many reviews and technical articles on the improvements to the new Z lenses I began to question that logic.
  
  I started by purchasing this 105mm micro lens. It was a wise decision! Because of fundamental changes to the Z-mount made possible by the mirrorless design of cameras (wider flange diameter, closer rear lens element distance to sensor plane, etc.), lens designs have been improved. Noticeably improved!
  
  One notible improvement for me was increased edge-to-edge sharpness. Macro lenses are already flat-plane lenses so sharpness and lack of distortion across the sensor plane is already a given. And yet, improvements have been gained in this new design.
