  Item arrived used, how I know is that I just finished setting up two identical boxes. This box had no HDMI cable, the power adapter was unwound and flapping around, the wrap that the box normally comes in was all messed up. I'm unsure about the batteries as I didn't make a mental note when setting up the two other boxes. But there were no remote batteries. Device was pre setup with a gmail account and with language and location services set to China.
  
  Not sure how devices that are returns pass through the cracks. Would I buy again from this seller. Nope. Device did function as expected when the account was removed and the language/location was setup. I used another HDMI cable I owned. Box seems to perform pretty good - snappy interface.
