It is always hard to judge how this works with jewellery because the bigger surfaces are easy to clean, but it the gunk is the crevasses that is both harder to see and harder to get clean. This did a better job than by hand on getting those in-between bits my hand, but not as good as my commercial cleaner at work.
One area where this worked noticeably well was for cleaning the kids' retainer. There's always stuff that is caked on and is hard to come off, even with brushing. When we put it in here, you could visibly see bits coming off, and the "cleaned" retainers were noticeably cleaner. If you want to help the kids keep them clean this is an easy way for them to keep up.
Pro-tip: I use chemical cleaners at work in a separate glass container, like a beaker, inside the Ultrasonic bath. Our jeweller had mentioned that you can use a cleaner like Mr. Clean to help dissolve the gunk when soaked, and with the ultrasonic, that gives double cleaning power.
