  As a hobbyist it's a lot of fun to be had for the money. As others mentioned, it is not 100% through hole.
  There are SMD chips you need to solder, so get yourselves a flux pen. I did one with and one without and it definitely helps for the novice. The sound quality though, you kind of get what you pay for if not slightly less. there's decent high/mid range but really lacks bass (no surprise considering their size). it's more of a product for those who like making this but don't expect it to replace your existing speakers.
