  I had used this to replace a cheaper vent.
  
  the cheaper vent was only good as a home to spiders... LOL
  
  I had a constant smell in the basement that is now gone.
  
  Only issue is that you need plumbers tape to properly install this... so make sure you have a roll somewhere...
