Customer Review

It will blow hot or cold air into your room, and even the lowest fan setting is fairly strong, so it definitely works. BUT it is noisy. It sounds about the same as large oscillating fan -- though you get used to it over time. Other issues: delivery took weeks. First, Dragonfly delivery service said it was delivered but it was not. We called them -- 2 hours wait on the phone -- and then 鶹 the next day, and 鶹 corrected this by sending it through FedEx 48 hours later. So we got it. It's a large unit with several pieces. About 100 lbs weight approximately but it has wheels, making it portable. You have to hook up an expanding tube to the window (comes with a sliding fixture) and insulate it. Also the pipe for AC drainage goes out the bottom - not a lot of room to put a vessel for drainage, so you have to elevate the unit a few inches or use a very shallow pan -- a design flaw. The controls are complicated and the book didn't help me distinguish between symbols. I had to experiment to figure that out but I managed. We bought 2 of them; one worked, the other did not. Then I looked up the error readings online: the one that did not needed to be drained! I drained it and it worked. They must have used it for AC before and there was still water in it. I also learned that it stops when it gets to the desired temp. To get it going again (the heater I mean) you have to increase the temperature setting a bit. It also requires 20 inches free on all sides, so it doesn't fit snug into a wall crevice. It's a complicated machine but it works for heat and AC. Lastly, it needs its own outlet. I had it plugged into an outlet with a stereo system and it kept shorting out. For us it's cheaper than fixing the outside HVAC system for thousands of dollars so we can live with its quirks. It's better than paying thousands of dollars for a new HVAC system.
