  As a horror (movie) fan, I'd long been looking for horror novels that hit the same way. Yeehaw. The Troop will gross you out and stay with you and freak you the HELL out. Nick Cutter pulls no punches in this nasty tale of body horror. And when you can't decide what is worse -- the affliction or the sociopathic kid who makes you retroactively like that weird book you were forced to read in middle school (*cough, lord of the flies, *cough) -- you realize he's really nailed it. Definitely my favourite Canadian author right now next to Tod Molloy.
