When I took this pizza wheel out of the box, and I pulled the cutter out of the sheath it cut my finger. The cutter is sharp, and if you hold the protective sheath wrong, the blade emerges through the slot (as shown on picture), and will go through your skin. Protective cover should protect, not only the blade, but the user as well! It is expensive, but it is also quite a show piece. The spoke wheel cavities could use either tapered or rounded edges to prevent catching food, and to make them easier do clean. I did not like the stringent instruction on washing and drying. One cannot leave the pizza cutter wet in the dish rack, as they want you do dry it immediately after hand washing with mild detergent. So the bottom line is, it does work, but there are design issues, and the required maintenance is cumbersome.
