  This is an incredibly dangerous unit to use. My husband nearly amputated his 3,4 digit on his hand. There is absolutely no reason this hedge trimmer does not have a separate safety feature that is not connected to the operational handle. The hedge trimmer is one of the most dangerous garden tools to have.
