- Reviewed in Canada on May 28, 2025This is such a cute train set that is made out of good quality wood at such an affordable price compared to other popular train sets. I鈥檓 giving it a 5 because of affordability as I can鈥檛 give it a 4.5. There were 2 pieces of track that were a tiny bit rough in a very small area, but everything else made up for it. I just filed it a bit with a metal nail file. The spaces in between the pieces did not affect the movement of the train and the space size was almost the same for some of my pieces from my much more expensive set. The tracks and vehicles work with the more popular $200 sets so you can add them to those. I love that it came with the free standing apple tree 鈥渂ridge鈥 with the track attached through it so this makes it easier for my 3 yr old grandson to add the pieces on both sides without it falling over every time he tries to add a piece. The fishing pond is laminated cardboard but the fish and poles are wooden. My grandson loved fishing in the pond. The crane with all the wooden logs to pick up was another big win in his eyes. He loaded them up one by one and put them on the trailers that were made for the logs. The magnets are strong and the train stays together. There is also a fence to set up for the animals, plus train cars that can carry 2 animals around the track. I鈥檝e taken a picture after we set it all up just like the cover on the box. The windmill stands well on its own, as do the barn and the two trees. The colours are bright and parts are painted neatly. I highly recommend this wooden train set as it is so much more than just a train set.
