  This cable is an improvement over the s-video cables with a yellow RCA plug (causes interference and creates a checkerboard pattern). It is the best quality you will get out of the GameCube without component cables. I've tried "better" S-Video cables ($25) that are thicker, shielded, gold plated etc. and these produce the same quality video.
