  No other book that I have read will inform you like this one on how, in less than three decades, successive Chinese governments managed to transform this huge backward country into a world power. It explains in detail the good and bad moves, as well as the challenges China still faces nowadays.
  As for the Chinese hegemony, it does not seem to be ready to become a reality anytime soon.
