I bought this watch with swimming specifically in mind. It says that it can be used *during* a swim as it is rated IP68 (although I have never tested it) - however it cannot be dropped and/or sunk to the bottom of a pool, nor can it be used during fresh water swims, hot tubs and/or "hot showers". (Cold showers are okay, though.)
I also bought this hoping that it would have a fitness tracker related to swimming - particularly since the advertisment states that swimming is part of the 10 sport modes. When I read the user manual though, the user manual gave zero instructions and/or information on how to set any kind of program up related to swimming.
Lastly, any and all measurements are recorded using the metric system. I don't know if this is just a personal thing, but in Canada - some of use imperial for height/weight - and it's a pain in the butt to have to calculate extra math just to figure out the difference in conversions.
All this being said, it actually appears to be a nice watch and would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.
