  I never took any stats courses but I'm in a technical field. I was looking for a primer on stats to ease me into it and was recommended this book. Although at times, I will admit that I got lost and had to re-read sections, it helped me understand the importance of statistics more than many of the tutorials I've read. The author's examples and humour also made what is a normally a pretty dry subject, much more digestible for a layman like me. Great book!
