  Used to replace a 1/2 HP sump pump that was going on its last leg before the rain storms started to kick in last month. The flowrate at the end of the pipe is a lot less than a competitor brand that was replaced, but with my calculations of head loss would have been completely appropriate to expect the same results. This pump lists a 0 to 25 ft of head curve, I'm about 13-14 ft of head loss with a 80' ft PE discharge pipe and I barely get 1 GPM. The previous pump had no issue emptying the pit in less than a minute, now with this one it takes 7 minutes to empty the pit. And yes, checked the discharge pipe if it was empty and free of clogs (using the well water connected to it) and check valve and took apart the bottom of the pump to see if any debris would be clogging the discharge pipe. All seem to manufacturers specifications. Bottom line, if you think you would be okay with a 1/2 HP for a long run of pipe, purchase a 3/4 HP or purchase a 1/2 HP from another brand.
