The PXN V99 is my first high end force feedback steering wheel and for the most part it provided a realistic and satisfying experience.
The steering wheel comes in an extremely large box, with everything well packaged. Inside of the box you get: - Steering wheel - Steering wheel motor base - Shift stick - Foot pedals - Power adapter - Two steering wheel clamps - 4 sets of bolts and washers - Allen key - 7 wires (adapter wire, Aviation to USB, Aviation to RJ45, RJ45 to RJ45, Type-C to USB-A, Micro USB to USB-A) - Instruction manual
Setup was fairly easy as each device has it's own specific wire. The place where you might have some issue is if you have a racing stand and expected all the mounting holes to match. I got a racing stand that was supposed to be compatible with most Logitech and Trustmaster racing wheels but noticed the PXN V99 did not match for both the steering wheel and foot pedals. If you plan to mount the foot pedal refer to the screenshot of the manual I've shared to see if your setup has compatible holes. For the steering wheel I went with the product's dual clamps and for the foot pedal I was only able to mount 2 of the 4 holes onto my stand. For now this seems fine but depending on how forceful you are during gameplay the clamp mount can loosen and fall off. I did have it happen once and had to retightened the bolts.
For the racing wheel to work it needs to be connected to wall outlet, a usb cable to the PS4, and then a usb cable to a PS4 controller. You can connect the wheel to a PS5 but the controls completely fail to work. It's as if there are some phantom inputs that keep pressing various controller inputs making it impossible to use. Otherwise I had no issues with the PS4.
The wheel works amazingly. There are vibrations and with every turn you can let the wheel return to neutral position. The wheel has a toggle at the back to allow it to rotate 270 or 900 degrees.
The wheel can run warm after a long session. While it worked fine and I didn't see any performance issues, at the end of my playthrough it does give off a sort of smell. Hopefully it's nothing but so far the experience is excellent.
I think the PXN V99 is pretty good wheel that offers realistic and entertaining driving experiences.
Works Great for PS4. Does Not Work With PS5. Mounting Holes May Not Be Compatible.
