  I bought this hoping to be able to weigh my Chihuahuas, who are too small to be weighed on a regular scale. Since I make most of their food homemade, I want to be able to weigh them often to access if they are getting the correct amount of food. This scale, though going to the proper weights (my dogs are 6-8lbs) is too small to fit them on. I was able to get an estimate by putting them on box on the scale (love the tare feature) though not likely very accurate as they kept sliding off.
  
  Anyway, although it is not great for the purpose I bought it for, it does seem like a very accurate and sturdy scale. I like that it uses triple A batteries rather than specialized ones, as the others in this price range did. In fact, that was the feature that swayed me to make this purchase rather than another scale.
  
  It is a great size for weighing food, or (as in my case) a block of beeswax that I had purchased at the same time. I am sure that I will be able to put it to use. It came in quickly and in good condition.
