  Nothing to dislike, this movie is hard hitting and just great all round. I watch it again and again ! That's rare, because
  I rarely do that with a movie. This film is pure genius, and ahead of it's time ! I'll bet that Sidney Poitier was happy
  to make such a " social statement". Rod Steiger played his role "brilliantly" and showed how the Sheriff evolved and
  Virgil Tibbs earned respect as he was clearly the "number one homicide detective"!
