The top layer is peeling off as chips. The section between 11 and 12 peeled off the day I opened it and the section on top of 11 peeled after a couple of gentle uses. These are sharp wooden pieces and have the potential to hurt toddlers hands. I am disappointed with the quality even though i love the idea of this clock.
