Latches are double clamping snapping on firmly and requiring button to be pushed inwards fully before its case lid opens up. Its thoughtfully engineered for durability being lined in waterproof gasket and pressurized for taking as carry on.
Interior compartment lining feels plush keeping my lenses and camera gear softly wrapped inside. Padding on bottom and sides is about 0.25" to 0.33" which is a tradeoff for having convenience of adjustable dividers. Shock absorption is basic enough by stabilizing gear since dividers have rigidity from plastic inside. Space is ample for smaller camera systems but larger lenses are tight to fit inside this compact hard suitcase but tough enough for handling weather and terrain while hiking or traveling with gear.
